Rams Dominate Spring Hill

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's soccer team took the Badgers out behind the woodshed and beat them 4-0 Monday night.

It was a physical battle all night with 38 combined fouls and 8 yellow cards issued and that physical play kept the teams scoreless in the first half.

The Rams changed all of that in the second half when Jack St. Hilaire headed home an Edgar Morales feed at the 52 minute mark for the 1-0 lead. Morgan Copes added a brilliant goal 11 minutes later when he caught the Badger goalkeeper out too far and flipped the ball over his head into the far corner.

Darren Spong and Lance Nelson padded the Rams' lead late with goals in the 85th and 88th minutes respectively. Morales added two more assists on Copes' and Spong's goals to finish with 3 on the day.

Even though the score did not indicate it in the first half, Mobile dominated on offense, with 13 first-half shots and 16 second-half shots to just 3 total for Spring Hill. The Rams made good use of their shots too, with 19 of the 28 attempts being shots on goal.

Now 6-8 on the season, Mobile will host a Region XIII Tournament play-in game Saturday Nov. 4th at the Jungle. Opponent and game time are TBA.
