Rams Win GCAC Championship

HATTIESBURG, Miss—The 22nd-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team took down 14th-ranked William Carey University 2-0 to win the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championship Saturday.

The win puts Mobile one step away from appearing in the NAIA National Tournament, and that step will come when they host Mountain State either Nov. 14 or 15, with the winner earning a bid to nationals.

Onesimus Ikungo scored for the second straight game for the Rams, after going scoreless for the rest of the season, and Ruben Diaz added the other goal, extending his team-leading goal total to 10.

The Rams' defense did the rest of the work, shutting out a potent Crusader attack that had tallied 13 goals over their previous 3 games. Jason Williams picked up the shutout in goal for the Rams.
