Men’s soccer to host Berry College in Region XIII Tournament Semifinals

MOBILE, Ala. -- The No. 2-seeded University of Mobile men’s soccer team (12-4-1) will host No. 3-seeded Berry College (19-3-0) in the semifinal round of the Region XIII Tournament at home on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m.

The Rams, which defeated No. 7-seeded Belhaven College 6-1 on Saturday night at home in the opening round of the tournament, have now won eight of their last nine matches, losing only once to No. 8 ranked AUM 1-0.

If Mobile were to win on Wednesday, they will face the winner of Wednesday’s other Region XIII Tournament match-up between No. 1 seeded AUM and No. 4 seeded William Carey College next Saturday.

A win by Mobile and AUM would present a championship match-up next Saturday at AUM. However, if AUM were to lose their match and Mobile were to win, Mobile would host William Carey College in the Region XIII Championship game next Saturday.

The Rams are led this season by freshman Bjorn Asbjornson who leads the team in both goals scored (8) and total points (18). Freshman goalkeeper James Beggs leads the team in games started at goalkeeper (12), saves (53), wins (8) and shutouts (5).

Robert Mueller scored four goals and needed less than a half to record a hat trick as he and his Berry College teammates rolled to a 5-1 victory over No. 6-seeded North Georgia in their Region XIII opening round game on Saturday.

Mobile has not faced Berry College this season.
