Men’s Soccer to Host Thomas University in
Region XIII Semi-finals
MOBILE, Ala. – The University of Mobile men’s soccer
team (13-4) will look to avenge an earlier season loss to Thomas
University (12-6-3) when the two teams square off in a NAIA Region XIII
semi-final playoff game tomorrow, Nov. 12. The kickoff is scheduled for 4
p.m. at The Jungle on the University of Mobile campus.
Mobile, the No. 1 seed in the tournament, won their
first-round game last Saturday at home against Southern Wesleyan
University, 4-1. Thomas, who beat Mobile 1-0 back in September, defeated
Reinhardt College 4-2 in a penalty kick shoot-out to advance to play
Mobile.
This season, the Rams are led by freshman sensation
Darren Toby who has scored a team-high 24 points (9 goals, 6 assists) on
the season. In the goal, sophomore goalkeeper Tommy Sarkkinen has stopped
45 shots on the year and recorded a .726 save percentage.
If the Rams win tomorrow, they will host the winner
of the William Cary at AUM game also played tomorrow, on Saturday, Nov.
15.
