UM Men Climb To No. 16

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The good news just keeps pouring in for the University of Mobile men’s soccer team.

The Rams are hosting a play-in game to get to the NAIA National Tournament Friday at 4 pm, Jason Williams was named NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week, and the Rams moved up to No. 16 in the latest NAIA Men’s Soccer Top-25.

Mobile 10-6-2 went 2-0 since the last poll, winning the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championship with wins over Belhaven College and 21st-ranked William Carey University.

Mobile started the season ranked No. 9 before dropping out, but have slowly worked their way back up the ladder and will have a chance to make more noise Friday when Mountain State visits with the winner advancing to the National Tournament, beginning Nov. 22.

The Rams received 335 points in the poll, only 6 behind 15th-ranked Benedictine College and 8 ahead of 17th-ranked Hastings College.
