Port City FC Soccer Academy Goalkeeping Camp

The Port City FC Soccer Academy will be hosting a Goalkeeping camp on June 16th to June 20th. The Camp will be Directed by UM Goalkeeping Coach Remi Roy and Spring Hill College Head Coach Adam Pearce.

The foundation of goalkeeping is based primarily on techniques, which will be the main focus of this camp. The correction of small details can make a world of difference in the performance of goalkeepers. Who can make those corrections? Coaches that have played and coached the position will have a better understanding on how to make those changes and why.

Many goalkeepers are thrown in to goal without any direction on how to play the position. The game has evolved so much in the last 10-15 years that the goalkeeper has become more of an eleventh player and not simply a shot stopper. Learning how to react to certain game situations will be another focus of this week long camp. The era of the goalkeeper that is just a shot stopper is over. They need to learn how to better themselves in situations where they will be ask to prevent situations from happening in front of them by reading the game.
