HATTIESBURG, Miss—The University of Mobile men’s cross country team finished 3rd behind the University of Mississippi and Jackson State University at the Golden Eagle Classic.
Mobile finished with a team time of 2:46:37.35, with Ole Miss posting a time of 2:25:50.05 in the 8K run. Michael Sinkey finished 8th overall with a time of 31:24.14, Dennis Kimelie posted a time of 32:32.15 for an 11th place finish and Ryne Pulliam finished 13th with a time of 33:31.04.
Eric Roberts clocked in at 34:21.00, Chris Rhodes finished at 34:49.02 and Daniel Gardner posted a time of 35:09.04.
After them,
Jeffrey Caviness finished in 17th place, Thomas Fletcher came in 20th, Josh Stodghill in 21st, Lamar Fitchard in 23rd, and John Fincher in 24th place.
" I am very proud of our outcome when competing against teams like the University of Mississippi and Jackson State University," Head Coach Holly Person said. "It is always good to get the first race under our belt in order to see what areas need improvement and what strategies will work best with our current athletes. We are looking forward to our second meet at the University of South Alabama next Saturday."
