UM Men Compete at Region XIII Meet
ROME, Ga-- The University of Mobile men's cross country team finished 6th at the Region XIII Championships in Rome, Georgia and Dennis Kimeli earned a spot in the NAIA National Championships.
Mobile finished with a total team time of 2:33:07.03 on the 8K course. Kimeli finished 8th overall and paced the Rams with a time of 27:08.62. Kennedy Mulinge finished 25th with a time of 28:57.11 and Daniel Gardner finished 53rd with a time of 31:43.20.
Kingston Govati finished at 31:58.34, Justin McGehee finished at 33:19.76, Christopher Rhodes clocked in at 33:24.12, Eric Roberts hit the 33:51.44 mark, Josh Stodghill finished at 35:28.40, Thomas Fletcher at 38:19.72, and John Fincher rounded out the group at 46:40.58.
Kimeli earned the bid to the NAIA National Championships because the top 5 individual runners after the team that won (Shorter), get bids and he was the 4th such runner.
Also GCAC Championships....
The meet also served as the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championships, and the Rams finished 3rd out of 5 teams with their time. Kimeli finished 2nd overall. Kennedy Mulinge finished 6th.
