Lady Rams Win Exhibition Games

PENSACOLA, Fla—The University of Mobile softball team began its 2008 season with a pair of exhibition wins at Pensacola Junior College Saturday afternoon. The Lady Rams took game 1 7-0, and followed with an 11-7 win in the finale.

In game 1, Ginger Reeser got the start for Mobile and picked up the win by holding PJC to only 3 hits and fanning 7. At the plate, Anadys Suarez, Jennifer Gomez and Cristina Rodriguez each went 3-for-4 to pace the offense. Gomez also hit a homer for the Lady Rams.

Nikki Madden took the ball in the finale and picked up the win while striking out 4. Jineth Pimentel provided plenty of thunder, going 3-for-5 at the plate with 3 home runs. Jessica McIntyre backed Pimentel with a homer of her own. Taylor Lee Phillips and Rodriguez rounded out the top performers at the plate, going 3-for-5 and 2-for-4, respectively.

The 13th-ranked Lady Rams will open the 2008 regular season with a double header at Thomas University Monday, February 18th at 1:00 pm.
