UM Softball Remains Perfect At Home

MOBILE, Ala. – The 4th-ranked UM Softball team (23-5) extended their unblemished home record to 16-0 with a double-header sweep of Ohio Dominican University (3-5), winning 8-0 in the first game and 2-1 in the night cap.

Denisse Fuenmayor went 4-for-6 with four RBIs and two runs scored on the day. In the first game both of Fuenmayor’s hits were home runs, helping the Rams score seven runs in the bottom of the second inning and then getting the solo shot in the bottom of the fourth to end the first game in a mercy-ruled five innings.

Kirby Baxter (12-2) picked up the win, pitching a no-hitter, while fanning four batters.

Brenda Box (2-for-3) and Winter Guthrie (1-for-2) each scored a run in the nightcap to help the Rams extend their winning streak to eight.

Ann McLean (6-1) scattered three hits in seven innings while giving up one earned run in picking up the complete game win.

The Rams will play host to cross-town rival Spring Hill College this Saturday in a double-header scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
