UM Softball runs home record to a perfect 20-0 with doubleheader sweep of Lindenwood University

MOBILE, Ala. -- The University of Mobile (27-5) ran its home record to a perfect 20-0 with a doubleheader sweep of Lindenwood University Tuesday afternoon on the University of Mobile campus in Mobile, Ala.

The Rams won the first game of the day with a 7-3 victory before taking the nightcap in a five inning mercy ruled game, winning 8-0.

In the opener, Mobile fell behind on three unearned runs in the first inning but rallied back to tie the game in the fourth inning and scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to eventually pull away.

Leadoff batter Brenda Box went 4-for-4 scoring two runs and driving in two other RBI while stealing two bases.

Anne McLean (8-1) picked up the win in relief going two innings allowing no hits, walking just one and striking out one.

In the nightcap, Mobile jumped all over Lindenwood in the second inning for seven runs and then put it in cruise control as they won in a five inning mercy-ruled game.

Region XIII Player of the Week Denisse Fuenmayor collected two hits in four at-bats while knocking in two RBI.

Again McLean (9-1) got the win, going three innings allowing just two hits and striking out two
