Mobile, Ala. – University of Mobile's Maria Soto was named the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference and Region 13 Player of the Week, for the week ending March 30, 2003.

Soto was 12 for 20 on the week (.600) with 7 rib's, 2 doubles, 2 stolen bases, and 6 runs scored.  Soto has a .455 batting average for the year, leads the Rams in rib's with 38, and is 9-for-9 in the stolen base department. 

The Rams are currently ranked fifth with an overall record of 33-3 and finished the week with a 6-0 record.  Soto is a senior first baseman from Belencia, Venezuela.
