Lady Rams Drop Pair At Belhaven

JACKSON, Miss-- The 10th-ranked University of Mobile softball team blew a pair of leads and fell 9-6 and 5-4 at Gulf Coast Athletic Conference foe Belhaven College Saturday evening.

The Lady Blazers handed Mobile's Leslie Pickette (17-1) her first loss of the season by getting to her for 5 runs in 5.2 innings of work in the circle. The Lady Rams built a 6-0 lead heading into the bottom of the 4th, but the Lady Blazers cut the deficit in half with a three-spot in the 4th and then won the game with a six-spot in the 6th.

Desiree Truett and Ally Scott both collected two hits for Mobile, while Tess Ackerman finished 2-for-4 with a homer and 2 RBI.

Mindy Scott (3-2) took the loss in the finale after allowing 5 runs in 5.2 innings of work for the Lady Rams. Mobile held a 3-1 lead heading into the bottom of the 6th inning, but the Belhaven bats erupted for four runs in the 6th to take the game.

Brittany Dowdle finished 2-for-3, Holli McLeod went 2-for-3 with a homer and 2 RBI and Ally Scott added a home run for Mobile.

The Lady Rams (24-7, 3-3) host LSU-Alexandria Monday, April 6th for a noon double header.
