MOBILE, Ala-- The 15th-ranked University of Mobile softball team picked up a split with 7th-ranked William Carey University in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action Tuesday. Mobile won the opener 4-0 and then William Carey took the finale 9-3.

Mobile scored the winning run in the 2nd inning, when Kirstyn Joiner singled off the pitcher's glove to plate Pimentel. The Lady Rams added a pair of insurance runs in the 5th off of reliever Brittany Fuller, who entered with a 0.25 ERA.

In game two, the Lady Rams left five runners on in the first two innings, and then William Carey put up a six-spot in the 6th, equaling the number of runs they had scored against Mobile in the last three games combined.

The inning started with a groundout, but a hit-batsman and a walk sit the stage for the rally.
