FAIRHOPE, Ala. – The 4th-ranked University
of Mobile Rams (42-9) continued their domination of William Carey College
with an 8-0 mercy-ruled win to advance past the opening round of play of
the GCAC/Independent Sectional Tournament held at Founders Park in
Fairhope, Ala.
The Rams will advance to the second round where they
will play Belhaven College, who defeated Spring Hill College in the other
first round match-up, Saturday at noon.
The Rams, who scored three quick runs in the top of
the first and never looked back, was led by Sylvia Bedgood’s two runs
scored and four RBIs on 3-for-4 hitting.

(16-3) picked up the win as she surrendered only one hit and struck out
five in five innings pitched.
