Lady Rams Ranked 5th
MOBILE, Ala-- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released the latest NAIA Softball Top-25 Wednesday and the University of Mobile found itself in the top-5 at #5.
The Lady Rams moved up 2 spots from seventh after going 6-0 over the last week and moving to the top of the GCAC standings. The Lady Rams are on a 9-game winning streak and have won 14-of-15 after dropping three straight to conference foes.
Mobile received 273 points, 15 ahead of 6th-place Lubbock Christian, and 13 behind Trevecca Nazarene, whom Mobile swept earlier this season. Next up for Mobile is the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament this weekend in Clinton, MS.
There, the Lady Rams will battle conference foes Spring Hill, William Carey and Belhaven for the GCAC Crown.
Mobile has outscored opponents 232-67 on the season while blasting 37 homers and hitting .346 as a team.Yaicey Sojo, Anadys Suarez and Jineth Pimentel are all batting above .400 for Mobile, while the pitching trio of Karla Rodriguez, Nikki Madden and Ginger Reeser has combined for a 1.65 ERA in 245.2 innings of action. |
