Lady Rams Tied For 15th In Top-25

KANSAS CITY, Mo—The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released the latest NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, and the University of Mobile is tied for 15th.

California Baptist holds down the top spot for the sixth consecutive week with 681 points, while the Lady Rams (32-12) are in a tie with Madonna University (46-8) with 363 points.

Conference Tournaments will take place this week, and then the final poll will be released next Tuesday. The Lady Rams are done and will have to hope they finish high enough to receive one of eight at-large bids to the 2009 NAIA Softball National Championship in Decatur May 14-20.

Fellow Gulf Coast Athletic Conference member William Carey is No. 5, while Belhaven College is receiving votes. Concordia University is one spot ahead of Mobile with 402 points, while Lee University is one spot below with 345.

Mobile started the year ranked No. 6 in the preseason poll and has remained 15th or higher in all eight polls this season.
