Lady Rams Named All-American
MOBILE, Ala-- The 2009 NAIA Softball All-Americans were announced Friday, and the University of Mobile had a pair of athletes placed on the honorary squad.
Third baseman Jineth Pimentel was named Honorable Mention All-American for the second consecutive year, while pitcher Leslie Pickette was also named Honorable Mention All-American.
Pimentel, a native of Venezuela, led the Lady Rams in batting average (.383), runs (39), doubles (10), home runs (6), slugging percentage (.626), walks (31) and on base percentage (.522).
Pickette, a junior from Oxford, Ala., paced Mobile in the circle by posting a 22-3 record with a sparkling 1.58 ERA in 159.2 innings of action. She fanned 97 and limited opponents to a .230 batting average in her first season of work for the Lady Rams.
Mobile finished the season ranked No. 17 in the NAIA Top-25 with a 32-12 record. |
