Four UM Athletes Named Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released the 2009 Daktronics-NAIA Softball Scholar Athletes.

These are student-athletes that are junior, seniors or graduate students in academic standing and have a minimum 3.50 GPA.

The University of Mobile had four softball players honored. Anniston, Ala. native Heather Bearden, Carabobo, Venezuela native Jineth Pimentel, Hoover, Ala. native Abby Campbell and Decatur, Ala. native Taylor Lee Phillips all made the list.

This is the third straight year as a scholar-athlete for Campbell and second such honor for Phillips.
