Rams Sign Austin High School's Jessica McIntyre

MOBILE, Ala. – Austin High School standout Jessica McIntyre has signed to play for the University of Mobile softball team.

A 6A honorable mention All-State selection, the Decatur native also was also a member of the 6A All-Area team after batting .412 with 14 doubles, three homeruns, 43 RBIs and 41 runs scored.

“We’re very fortunate to get Jessica,” University of Mobile head coach Becky Clark said. “Sometimes our best recruiting comes through performing well at the national level. Jessica saw us at last year’s tournament when we finished runner-up and what an incredible blessing that turned out to be in more ways than just one.”

McIntyre will challenge for a spot in the infield in 2005. She will join a very talented recruiting class that includes Baker star Carrie Walker, Meghan Chisholm of East Central as well as two Venezuelan national team members to be named.
