Lady Rams Sign Pair of Players

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile softball program announced the addition of two players for the 2009 softball season.

Allyssa Scott

Allyssa Scott comes from Sequoyah High School where she played right field and batted .319.

The daughter of Richard and Amy Spates lettered in both basketball and softball in high school and won the State Championship in softball in 2006.

"Ally has great work ethics, is a strong athlete, has a strong and accurate arm, and is a good power slap hitter," Sequoyah Head Coach Todd Morrissey said. "She is also eager to learn."

She also played for the Atlanta Vipers.

Kirstyn Joiner

Kirstyn Joiner is the daughter of Jody and Chanda Joiner and comes from Pace High School.

She is a catcher and chose Mobile because she likes the program and its coach, and likes its proximity to her home. Her 2006-07 high school team won the State Championship.

Her travel coach on the West Florida Elite, Coach Dennis Roesle, said that Joiner is a leader on the field and has great work ethics along with a desire to play well. He also said that she was rarely stole on and brings a great personality to the game.
