Head Softball Coach McCormick is set to begin her first year as head coach at the University of Mobile after serving 2007 as the assistant coach to Coby Mackin. She previously played for the Lady Rams and coached with Mackin at Spring Hill College. McCormick teamed with Mackin in 1998 to start up the Spring Hill softball program and led the team to a Top-25 Ranking in the first year. They followed that with a NAIA National Tournament appearance the following year. She stayed on three years as the assistant coach. As a player at UM, she became the softball program's first three-time NAIA All-American and earned GCAC Player of the Year honors in 1996. During her freshmen year of 1993, the program made its first NAIA National Tournament appearance. She and Mackin were also teammates at UM. The Satsuma native is married to Ken McCormick who is Minister to Students at Jubilee Baptist Church. Assistant Softball Coach
Maribel Riera Riera finished playing last year and was an All-American on the national championship team. She is currently finishing her degree in Human Performance and Exercise Science, and still competes on the Venzuelan National team. |
