Anne McLean

A native of Esquimalt Victoria, British Columbia… Daughter of Robert and Carol McLean… Pursuing a degree in Athletic Training and a minor in Physical Education… 3.2 GPA… Played for Esquimalt High School in Canada, Camosun College and Meridian Community College before coming to the University of Mobile… 2001 Western Canadian Champions… 2002 Second-Team All-American. 

 

Brenda Box

A native of Semmes, Ala… Daughter of William and Rita Box… Pursuing a degree in HPES… 3.0 GPA… Played at Mary G. Montgomery High and with the Mobile Thrillers… Hit .330 last year for UM, starting every game of the season (64)… Second on the team in stolen bases (14)… Second in hits (69) and first in runs scored (51)… Led the team with four triples and knocked in 20 runs… All-GCAC… NAIA Region XIII Second-Team All-American… NAIA Honorable Mention All-American. 

 

Christie Jackson

A native of Belle Chasse, La… Daughter of Rick and Becky Jackson… Pursuing a degree in Nursing… 3.2 GPA… Played at Belle Chasse High School and Okalossa-Walton Community College before transferring to the University of Mobile… Hit .267 last season for the Rams in 105 plate appearances… Member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

 

Denisse Fuenmayor

A native of Guacara, Venezuela… Daughter of America Arcila and Valentin Fuenmayor… Pursuing a degree in Business… Played for V.E. Colegio “Virgen Maria” as well as the Venezuelan National Team… Hit .321 last season for UM in 61 starts… Led the team in homeruns with seven and recorded 39 RBI… Ranked third on the team in slugging percentage (.481)… Former three-time Venezuela Player of the Year…
All-GCAC…All-Region… Second-team All-American selection. 

 

Haley Nelson

A native of Hueytown, Ala… Daughter of Ronnie and Debbie Nelson… Pursuing a degree in Physical Education… Played for McAdory High School… Dean’s List Recipient… Hit .333 last season in 14 games… Involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes… Aspires to one day become either a PE teacher or coach. 

 

Irene Elliott

A native of Sooke, British Columbia… Daughter of Lance and Denise Elliot… Pursuing a degree in CIS… 3.2 GPA… Played for Edward Milne High School and Mountain State University for a year before transferring to the University of Mobile…. Hit .427 last season for Mountain State University to go along with her 1.80 ERA as a pitcher. 

 

Kirby Baxter

A native of Butler, Ala… Daughter of Franklin and Ann Baxter… Pursuing a degree in Elementary Education… Pitched for Patrician Academy, Okaloosa Walton Community College and the Mobile Eliminators… Recorded a phenomenal 26-1 record last season with a remarkable 1.05 ERA… Surrendered just 82 hits and 24 runs in 171.2 innings… Struck out 154 batters and recorded nine shutouts… NAIA Second-Team All-American… NAIA All-Conference selection… NAIA National All-Tournament Team. 

 

Linden Jones

A native of Opelika, Ala… Daughter of Rodney and Laurie Jones... Undecided upon a major… Played last year for Opelika High School where she was the MVP both her junior and senior season… All-Area selection… First-Team All-State selection... OA News Player of the Year.

 

Meredith Tanner

A native of Hoover, Ala… Daughter of Bill and Janice Tanner… Pursuing a degree in Human Performance and Exercise Science… 3.2 GPA… Played at Hoover High, Okaloosa Walton Community College and with the Birmingham Crusaders… 2003 Region XIII All-Conference selection… NAIA National All-Tournament Team selection… NFCA Second-Team All-Region member… Hit .303 in 63 games last season for the national champion runner-ups… Second on the team in doubles (11)… Knocked in 36 runs and had a .392 on base percentage. 

 

Molly Walker

A native of Montevallo, Ala… Daughter of Mike and Jan Walker… Pursuing a degree in Communications, minor in Sociology… Hit .263 in 2003 and tied for 2nd on the team in base on balls (23)… Had a .413 on base % and was 10-12 on stolen base attempts… Selected as a leader for Ram Rush… Member of Campus Ministries.

 

Sylvia Bedgood

A native of Mobile, Ala… Daughter of Rusty and Angie Bedgood… Pursuing a degree in Sociology… 3.65 GPA… Played at Faith Academy and Okaloosa-Walton Community College before making her way over to the University of Mobile… Batted .324 last season playing in 59 games… Ranked 3rd on the team in total hits (59) and tied for 2nd in triples (2)… Dean’s List Recipient… NFCA Second-Team All-Region selection… All-GCAC… NAIA Honorable Mention All-American. 

 

Stephanie Landrum

A native of Satsuma, Ala… Daughter of Ray and Robin Landrum… Pursuing a degree in Psychology… 3.4 GPA… Played for Satsuma High School before coming over to UM… Batted .125 last season in just five games… Scored two runs and had a .417 on base percentage… Made two appearances on the mound last season going 1-0 with a 3.52 ERA… Allowed just three earned runs on the season and struck out two… Pitched a complete game shut-out against Point Loma in the 2001 National Tournament… Named to the 2001 All-Tournament Team.

 

Teal Boothe

A native of Fairhope, Ala… Daughter of Vince and Lynn Boothe... Pursuing a degree in English and a minor in Psychology… 3.9 GPA… Played for Fairhope High School before coming to the University of Mobile… NAIA Academic All-American… President’s List recipient… Honor Society member.

 

Winter Guthrie

A native of Hurley, Miss… Daughter of Patrick and Jerri Guthrie… Pursuing a degree in Human Performance and Exercise Science… Played for East Central High School, the Mobile Thrillers and the Southern Storm before coming to the University of Mobile… Batted .246 last season in 35 games… Clubbed four doubles and two triples in only 65 plate appearances… Slugged a .369 averaged and knocked in eight runs… Won back-to-back state championships in high school.

 

  Rachael West

A native of Huntsville, Ala... Daughter of Mark and Sulia West... Pursuing a degree in Secondary Education... Transfer from Athens State University via Central Alabama Community College...Played for both Sparkman High School and Bob Jones High School... Named conference tournament MVP as a freshman at Central Alabama Community College... Two-time All-tournament team representative... First-Team All-Conference selection her sophomore season at Central Alabama Community College.
