Lady Rams Topple #21 Lee University

CLEVELAND, Tenn-- The University of Mobile volleyball team took a big step in the program's history Friday evening, by knocking off #21 Lee University 3-2 (30-19, 26-30, 31-29, 21-30, 15-10).

The win marks the first win over a ranked school for the Lady Rams, who are in their 3rd year of existence. It is also gives the team an edge in the regional rankings since Lee is a fellow Region XIII member.

Whitney Knight led the way on offense for Mobile, finishing with 22 kills, while Paula Stilkey turned in another solid all-around performance. She finished with 9 kills, 16 digs, 7 aces and 6 blocks for the Lady Rams. Syretta Baldwin tacked on 15 kills, while Nicole Stokes led with 19 digs.

The win puts Mobile at 6-2 on the season, and the team will finish the Lee University Tournament Saturday with a pair of matches. They play Emory University at 8 am and turn around and play Region XIII foe Berry College at 5 pm.
