Lady Rams Climb Again

KANSAS CITY, Mo—The undefeated University of Mobile volleyball team climbed one spot to No. 18 in the most recent Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll released by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Tuesday.

Mobile (18-0, 3-0) received 304 points in the poll, jumping ahead of Hastings (Neb.), which sits at No. 19 with 301 points. Indiana Institute of Technology is 17th with 361 points.

Indiana Institute of Technology and Mobile are two of only five unbeatens in NAIA Div I volleyball this season. The No. 18 ranking is best in program history for Mobile, besting the rankings of 19, 20, 22 and 23 earlier this year.

The Lady Rams have big matches remaining in the 2008 season, including NCAA Div II’s 20th-ranked West Florida, the Faulkner University Tournament October 10-11 and the Georgetown College Tournament October 24-25.

Twelve of Mobile’s 18 victories on the season have been shutout wins, and the Lady Rams are out-hitting the opponents .297 to .107 on the year. Mobile has also served up 90 more aces than their opponents.

The final home match for Mobile comes October 14th when GCAC foe Loyola University visits for a 7:30 pm start time.
