Whitney Knight Wins Award

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile's Whitney Knight was named the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference and Region XIII Volleyball Player of the Week on Tuesday, October 16th.

The Lady Ram was an offensive catalyst as the team went 5-0 on the week to improve to 22-2 on the season and stretch their win-streak to 18.

Knight finished the week's action with 93 kills and a spectacular .437 hitting percentage as the Lady Rams beat Dillard, Southern Nazarene, Ohio Dominican, Wesley and Ursuline. The sophomore out of Birmingham also finished with 4 total blocks, 32 digs and 10 service aces.

The reigning GCAC Freshman of the Year posted 16 kills and 15 digs against Ohio Dominican and tallied 23 kills versus only 2 attack errors versus Ursuline College.

Knight and her teammates return to action Friday, October 19th at home versus Belhaven College. The match will start at 7:30 pm.
