Knight named GCAC and Region XIII Player of the Week

MOBILE, Ala-- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Wednesday that Mobile freshman Whitney Knight was named Region XIII Volleyball Player of the Week.

This comes two days after she was named Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

Knight and the rest of her teammates went 5-0 on the week to run their record to 25-1 on the season. The outside hitter from Birmingham continues to be a big part of the Rams' attack, as she posted 76 kills on 153 total attacks, 74 digs and 4 aces on the week. That amounts to a very solid kill percentage of .412.

This is Knight's third time this year to be honored. Teammates Syretta Baldwin, Nicole Stokes and Jill Campbell have also earned conference and regional honors on the season.
