Lady Rams Dominate Spring Hill

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team finished Gulf Coast Athletic Conference play undefeated by beating cross town rival Spring Hill College 3-0 (30-21, 30-22, 30-20) at home.

In taking the opening game, the Lady Rams used an well-balanced offensive attack, getting equal numbers across the roster. Whitney Knight led with 4 kills in the game, while Cassy Johnson, Syretta Baldwin and Paula Stilkey each chipped in 3 kills apiece.

Come game 2, Stilkey dominated for the Mobile, racking up 6 kills in the game to pave the way for the 8-point win. After game 3 was tied at 9-9, Mobile pulled away with the help of an all-around dominant serving game.

The Lady Rams are the Regular Season Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Champions for the second consecutive season and finish the regular season 29-4 (8-0). The Lady Badgers fall to 16-14 (4-4).

Next up for both teams is the GCAC Tournament at Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana Nov. 9-10. The Lady Rams will wait to see if the 29 victories are enough to move them into the NAIA Top-25 Wednesday. The team has been receiving votes for the past 6 weeks, but has not cracked the top 25.
