No. 22 Lady Rams Are GCAC Champs

NEW ORLEANS, La—The University of Mobile volleyball team remained steady at No. 22 in the latest NAIA Volleyball Top-25 Poll, and claimed a share of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Regular Season Title, despite losing in five sets at Loyola.

After starting the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference schedule 7-0 and not losing a set, the Lady Rams stumbled Tuesday evening. Mobile won the first two sets 25-23 and 25-20, but Loyola rebounded to take the final three 25-17, 25-21, 15-9.

Mobile (30-3, 7-1) next plays at the GCAC Tournament in New Orleans Nov. 14-15. The winner will get a berth to the NAIA National Tournament. Mobile will enter the tournament as the top seed due to tiebreakers after both teams finished 7-1 in conference action.

It's the third straight year Mobile claimed at least a share of the Conference Regular Season Title. The Lady Rams won it outright last season and shared the title with Loyola two years ago.
