MOBILE, Ala-- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the opening round matches for the 30th Annual NAIA Volleyball National Championship Sunday, and the University of Mobile will play host to Savannah College of Art and Design Saturday, Nov. 21 at 5:00 pm at Pharr Gym.

The winners of the 12 National Championship Opening Round matches will advance to join the top 11 teams and host Morningside (Iowa) at the NAIA National Championship presented by Siouxland Sports Medicine Foundation in Sioux City, Iowa.

Mobile enters the National Championship for the third straight season and boasts a 24-11 record after winning the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championship. It is the second straight year that Mobile will host a NAIA National Championship Opening Round match. The Lady Rams hosted and defeated Webber International last season.

SCAD (28-7) won the Sun Conference Championship and is making its 5th appearance at the National Championship.

The two schools have battled twice this season, with the Lady Bees of SCAD taking both contests. SCAD won 3-2 (26-24, 25-19, 19-25, 19-25, 15-6) on Aug. 28 and then 3-1 (25-17, 17-25, 30-28, 25-22) on Sept. 19. Olympia Haney went off for 35 combined kills in the two contests.

Since a loss to Embry-Riddle on Sept. 25, SCAD is 15-2 and on a current three-match win streak. Eleven of the wins have been in straight sets.

The Lady Rams are 16-3 since a loss to Union University on Oct. 9. Twelve of the victories have been shutouts.
