Field Set For NAIA National Championships COLUMBIA, Mo.-- The University of Mobile volleyball team received word on who it would be playing at the NAIA National Championships Nov. 28-Dec.1 in Columbia, Missouri when the NAIA released the pool play schedule Monday evening. There are 20 teams in the prestigious field and they are divided into five pools of four. Pool play takes place Nov. 28-29 and the top two teams from each pool advance to a single-elimination bracket Nov. 30-Dec. 1. The Lady Rams find themselves in Pool D along with 4th-seed Biola (Calif.), 7th-seed Columbia (Mo.) and Campbellsville (Ky.). Biola finished the season ranked #4 in the NAIA Top-25, while Columbia came in at #6. The Lady Rams received 7 votes in the final poll to place them at #29, while Campbellsville comes in at #24. Mobile will play Biola at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, November 28th and then tackle Columbia and Campbellsville at 1:30 and 8:30 pm on Thursday, November 29th. The Lady Rams are 35-5 on the season and got in the tournament by winning the Region XIII Tournament over the weekend. Of the 20 teams heading to Missouri, Mobile played 3 of them, going 2-1. The Lady Rams beat SCAD (Ga.) and Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) while losing to Bellevue (Neb.) For more information on the tournament go to www.naia.org. |
