UM Women Defeat SUNO in the
Conference Opener
MOBILE, Ala. – The
University of Mobile (7-5, 1-0) rebounded from a loss on New Years Eve,
with a 65-49 win over Southern University of New Orleans (SUNO) in the
conference opener Thursday night at home in Pharr Gymnasium.
Sherrie Lattimore led the
Rams with 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field. Lattimore also
dished out two assists and grabbed three steals in 25 minutes of action.
The Rams, who trailed
2-0, quickly tied the score on a Kinga Rybarczyk field goal at the 18:19
mark of the first half and never trailed again.
The Rams built up a 13
point lead in the first half before taking a 35-23 advantage into the
locker room at halftime.
Crystal Coston came off
the bench and grabbed 12 rebounds and was just one point shy of a
double-double as she finished the night with nine points.
Trevor Chandler scored
ten points on 4-of-8 shooting and was just one rebound shy of a
double-double herself, finishing the game with nine rebounds.
The Rams will next be in
action on Saturday, Jan. 10 when the team travels to William Carey for a
match-up with the Lady Crusaders at 5 p.m.
