UM Women Pick Up Second Straight Conference Win

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Junior Sasha Lilly did double-duty, hitting the game-tying shot to
send Mobile's (8-5) game against William Carey (2-7) into overtime and getting the game- winning lay-up with 7.6 seconds remaining to give the Rams a 67-66 victory.

Despite committing 24 turnovers the Rams out-rebounded the Lady Saders 51-39 and picked up
eight fewer fouls to pull out the thrilling overtime victory.

Although the Rams held as much as an 18-11 lead midway through the first half, the Lady Saders outscored Mobile 18-9 in the last ten minutes to take a 29-27 lead at the half.

Sparked by Kristie McKinley's three-pointer near the 11:00 minute mark, the Hattiesburg native accounted for seven of Carey's 18 points in that final first half stretch. Despite shooting 30 percent from the floor, William Carey forced 12 first half turnovers which proved to be the difference.
