UM RAMS REMAIN UNDEFEATED IN CONFERENCE PLAY

MOBILE, Ala. – Led by Crystal Coston’s 16-point and 7 rebound performance the University of Mobile put an end to Loyola University’s nine-game winning streak by edging out the Wolfpack 74-69. Although UM briefly held as much as a 12-point lead the Wolfpack never let up led by Joelle Bordelon’s tenacious 17-point performance.

While Loyola managed to tie the game five times in the first half, they were never able to take control of the lead. Dani Holland scored all 11 of her points in the first half to help keep the Wolfpack within reach as they entered the half down 43-35.

Mobile could do no wrong as they shot 60 percent on 18-of-30 shooting from the floor while only committing six turnovers and out-rebounding the Wolfpack 18-13.

Two straight field goals by the Rams opened the lead to 12, their biggest of the game.

Just five minutes later however the Wolfpack came howling as they went on a 7-0 run to cut Mobile’s lead to three, 54-51.

Staving off five more runs that cut their lead to three, the Rams cemented their win as Coston went a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe down the stretch.

Both Sasha Lilly and Trevor Chandler finished with 12 points and 8 rebounds to help lead the Rams.

Mobile hits the road Thursday as they take on defending conference champion Dillard University in New Orleans, La.
