Lady Rams Roll Versus Lady Pilots

MOBILE, Ala—The University of Mobile women's basketball team shot "lights out" and handled LSU-S with ease, 79-62 to move to 5-1 in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference play.

In the first half, Mobile shot a blistering 60% and clamped down on the visitors to hold LSU-S to 39% from the floor. The Lady Rams also did some damage at the free throw line, knocking down 9-of-9 freebies, versus only 1-of-2 shooting from the charity stripe by the Lady Pilots. That gave Mobile a comfy 14-point lead at the break.

The Lady Rams followed up the first-half shooting effort with another 60% performance in the final frame.

Mobile also got a career day from freshman Anna Maddox, a dominant first half from Crystal Hutchinson, and yet another all-around performance by Danielle Goodly.

Maddox turned in a career-high 16 points for the Lady Rams by hustling up and down the court to get good looks at the basket on her way to shooting 7-of-9. Hutchinson paced all scorers in the opening half with 13 points, and Goodly did it all with 15 points, 5 assists, 7 rebounds and 7 steals. Angela Bounds rounded out the double-digit performers for Mobile with 2 points, including a 9-of-10 effort from the free throw line.

Mobile moves to 9-8 (5-1) and next plays at home Thursday, January 24th at 5:30 pm against #18 Loyola University.
