Women Survive with two point win over Belhaven College
MOBILE,
Ala -- Belhaven’s Tamekia Foley missed a three-pointer as time expired
and the University of Mobile (13-8, 7-3) held on for an exciting 63-61
victory over Belhaven College Monday night at home in Pharr Gymnasium.
With
the win, the Rams avenge an earlier season loss on the road versus
this same Belhaven squad.
After
hitting one of two free-throws to put the Rams ahead 63-61 with just
12 seconds to play, the Rams Keli Saragusa was called for a controversial
foul on the Blazers’ Rakesia Gray.
However,
Gray missed the front end of a one-and-one but the Rams knocked the
ball out of bounds giving Belhaven one last chance.
Kinga
Rybarczyk led the Rams in the scoring column with 16, 12 of which came
in the first half alone. Sasha Lilly finished with 10 points
and 11 rebounds while Crystal Coston dropped in 11 points of her own.
The Rams
will next be in action on Thursday, Feb. 5 when the team hosts No.
15 Dillard University at 5:30 p.m.
