Mobile Women Fall Short at UWA

LIVINGSTON, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team went out of conference to get a game in Tuesday, and the Lady Rams fell 76-75 at the University of West Alabama.

Despite placing 5 players in double-digit scoring, the Lady Rams were not able to come out on top in an even game. Angela Bounds (16), Danielle Goodly (16), Sherri McIntosh (13), Anna Maddox (12) and Lakeela Lowe (12) all put up 10+ points, but could not overcome the trio of Jessica Thompson, Valerie Harris, and Dominique Whitfield for the home team.

That trio combined to score 55 points and haul in 19 rebounds, including 10 offensive boards. Mobile out-shot the host team 46% to 40% for the game, and clamped down to hold them to 36% from the field in the second frame, but the Lady Tigers made up for it on the glass.

The home team grabbed an impressive 18 offensive boards and out rebounded Mobile 45-41.

Mobile's record moves to 11-11 overall and the conference ledger remains 7-3. The Lady Rams return home to host Dillard University Thursday, Feb. 7th at 5:30 pm.
