Rams drop GCAC contest to Loyola

MOBILE, Ala. -- Loyola University erased a three point halftime deficit as the Lady Wolfpack outscored the University of Mobile Rams (18-6, 9-3) 45-19 in the second half en route to a 79-56 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference victory over Mobile Thursday night at the Pharr.

Led by Marjorie Bilinski’s 28 points and Joelle Bordelon’s 12 assists, the Lady Wolfpack shot 62.1 percent from the floor in the second half scoring 45 points in the process.

Trailing 37-34 at the break, Loyola (16-10, 7-5) came out on fire with a 21-5 run to start the second half that sparked the team’s fourth consecutive conference victory after a 3-5 start.

Mobile, who was led by Laura Davis and Crystal Coston scoring 13 points respectively, lost for just the third time this year in conference action. Kelly Manning also finished in double digit scoring with 11 points.

The Rams will return to action this coming Saturday night when they again play at home against LSU-Shreveport at 5 p.m. in Pharr Gymnasium.
