UM Women Fall to Conference Leader Xavier

MOBILE, Ala. – Xavier University (23-4, 14-1) proved why they are the elite team in the GCAC team by defeating the University of Mobile (14-12, 8-7) 66-49 Monday night in Pharr Gymnasium.

Xavier shot 50 percent from the floor in the first half in racing out to a 32-16 halftime advantage.  In the second half, the Rams scored the first four points of the half but never got any closer. 

Dominee Matthews came in off the bench and paced the Gold Nuggets with 14 points in just 13 minutes of action.  Jackie Tucker and Ferris Peters added 12 points a piece.

For the Rams, Crystal Coston again scored in double figures with 14 and was one rebound shy of another double-double finishing the game with nine.

Mobile will try for another win on Saturday, Feb. 21 when the Rams travel to Jackson, Miss. to due battle with Tougaloo College.
