Lady Rams Now Know What's Ahead
To get a bid to the 2008 NAIA National Tournament Mobile will need to win the GCAC Championship or just reach the finals against #1 Loyola. The Lady Rams have a bye from Tuesday's opening day of the tournament which will feature #10 SUNO at #7 Spring Hill and #9 Dillard at #8 Tougaloo. Mobile will then do battle with #6 Belhaven Thursday at 7:00 pm. On Saturday, the Lady Rams will face whomever advances out of SUNO, Spring Hill and #2 Xavier. If Xavier wins Mobile will hit the road, otherwise the Lady Rams will have a home game at 7:00 pm. The Championship Game will be Tuesday, March 11th at the home of the highest seed. Loyola already has an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament due to winning the Regular Season GCAC Championship, so if they win the tournament, the runner-up in the finals will get the other bid to nationals. The Lady Rams split the season series against the Lady Blazers, including dropping a game there Saturday evening. Mobile split with Xavier and swept both SUNO and Spring Hill. The Lady Rams were swept by Loyola University. Fans unable to attend the games at Mobile can watch and listen live online thanks to B2 Networks. MOBILE, Ala—The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference released the seedings for the 2008 GCAC Women's Basketball Tournament and the Lady Rams now know the road ahead.
