Four UM Women Honored By GCAC

MOBILE, Ala-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference released the 2008 All-Conference Team and awards Monday, and four Lady Rams dotted the list.

The trio of Angela Bounds, Danielle Goodly and Sherri McIntosh were named to the All-Conference Team, while Davidson High School product Crystal Hutchinson was named the 2008 GCAC Freshman of the Year.

Hutchinson has put up an impressive 12 points and 7 rebounds per game while recording 7 double-doubles. The freshman has game-high's of 28 points and 17 rebounds.

Bounds, Mobile's lone senior, has averaged 12 points and 4 rebounds per contest, while shooting a clutch 82% from the charity stripe. Bounds ranks second on the team with with 60 steals and 94 assists. The Pearl River, Louisiana native has scored 10+ points in the last 6 games and picked up a pair of double-doubles.

All season long, Goodly filled up the stat sheet for the Lady Rams, and earned NAIA National Player of the Week honors earlier this year. On the season, she averages 13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3.4 steals. She ranks in the top-30 in the NAIA in steals and assists.

McIntosh, a junior from Pretoria, South Africa, has dominated the paint for the Lady Rams, while averaging just over 13 points and 9 rebounds per contest. Sherri has picked up 11 double-doubles on the season, including four in the last five games.

The Lady Rams are 17-13 on the season and will host Belhaven in the GCAC Tournament on Thursday, March 6th at 7:00 pm. Click HERE for more on the postseason.
