Mobile’s
Season ends with loss to Spring Hill College at Gulf Coast Athletic
Conference Tournament
NEW ORLEANS,
La. -- The University of Mobile women’s basketball team (16-14) fell
to cross-town rival Spring Hill College 75-67 for the third time this
season Thursday afternoon in the second round of the Gulf Coast Athletic
Conference Tournament at the Alario Center in New Orleans, La.

season more than likely ends as the Rams would need an at-large bid
to the national tournament after finishing in third place in the regular
season conference standings and failing to win the conference tournament.
Maria
Rodriguez, who averaged 15 points against the Rams in the regular season,
scored 19 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field. Tamara Tilley
scored 13 points and Erin Houey came off the bench to also score 13
points for the Badgers.
With
the loss, the Rams fall to their rival for the third time this season
and the second time in the past week. Spring Hill defeated Mobile
72-60 at home back on Jan. 31 and won at Mobile last Saturday, Feb.
28, 75-71.
Crystal
Coston, the Rams leading scorer on the season at 15.7 points per contest,
finished the game with just 10 points on 3-of-15 shooting.
Sherie
Lattimore led the Rams with 18 points in a losing effort.
Spring
Hill improves to 15-15 on the season and advances to the next round
where they will face the winner of the Dillard University vs. William
Carey College match-up on Friday, March 5 at 5 p.m.
