Lady Rams Release 2007-08 Basketball Schedule

MOBILE, Ala—The University of Mobile women’s basketball program released its 2007-08 basketball schedule Monday.

The Lady Rams will play 30 games in all, including 14 home games and 18 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference matchups. The schedule is highlighted by a pair of early tournaments and some strong opponents.

The first two games of the season will pit the Lady Rams against Freed-Hardeman and Cumberland University at the Freed-Hardeman Classic in Henderson, TN on November 2nd and 3rd. Freed-Hardeman finished last season ranked #15 in the NAIA Top-25 and earned a National Tournament bid, while Cumberland University (TN) finished #12 and was the runner-up at the National Tournament.

Mobile will also play host to the Alabama Orthopedic Clinic Classic on November 16 and 17th. Spring Hill, Concordia and Southern Nazarene University will round out the field. Southern Nazarene won the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament and advanced to the quarterfinals of the National Tournament, while earning a #16 ranking in the final NAIA poll.

Auburn University –Montgomery will come to town for the first home game of the season on November 7th after finishing last year with a #14 ranking and earning a bid to the National Tournament. The Lady Rams will host Spring Hill on January 29th and visit the Lady Badgers on Feb. 28th.

The 2007-08 slate also includes four games versus NCAA Div II opponents. Mobile will take on University of West Florida, University of Montevallo, Miles College and University of West Alabama.
