Lady Rams Fall Short Against #15 Team HENDERSON, Tenn-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team knew this weekend's tournament at Freed Hardeman would be a tough test versus a pair of top 15 teams, but the Lady Rams just missed acing that test on the opening day. The young Lady Rams, who return only 4 players from last year's squad, fell 72-67 to #15 Cumberland University, who was the NAIA National Tournament Runner-up last season. Mobile trailed only 33-32 at halftime, but Cumberland held on for the victory. The Lady Bulldogs used 23 points from Renee Williams and a 7-2 edge in 3-pointers made to outlast the Lady Rams. The Lady Rams got double-digit point scoring efforts from its three returning starters and 12 points from freshman Latasha Long. Sherri McIntosh led the way with 14 points, while Danielle Goodly and Angela Bounds added 12 and 11, respectively. Cumberland finished the game 7-of-30 from 3-point range, while the Lady Rams shot only 5 and made 2. Both teams hit 35% from the floor. Listen Live To Saturday's Contest....
