Lady Rams Lose Halftime Lead and the Game
HENDERSON, Tenn—The University of Mobile women’s basketball finished up a tough tournament at Freed-Hardeman by dropping a 10-point decision to #8 Freed-Hardeman Saturday afternoon.
One day after losing by 5 to #15 Cumberland University, the Lady Rams fell 75-65 to another top team, despite holding a 32-21 halftime lead.
In an otherwise even game, the Lady Lions shot 46% from the floor compared to 38% for the Lady Rams and had an 18-7 edge in assists.
Freed-Hardeman also out shot the Lady Rams 85% to 62% from the free throw line, but Mobile still made 1 more than the home team.
Mobile finished with 4 players in double figures, led by Angela Bounds with 19. True freshman Latasha Long continued her good start at Mobile, by finishing with 10 points for her 2nd straight double-digit scoring game to open the season.
Sherri McIntosh gave Mobile 12 points from the post and Johnitia Williams came off the bench to drop in 10 points for the Lady Rams. McIntosh led with 8 rebounds, while Bounds led the team with 4 assists.
The Lady Rams (0-2) next play at home Wednesday, November 7th at 6:00 pm.
