Barber's 17 points lead Rams to one point win over Blue Mountain College

MOBILE, Ala. -- One day after pulling out a thrilling five point victory over No. 9-ranked Campbellsville University in overtime, the University of Mobile women's basketball team (2-0) won again in dramatic fashion with a 68-67 one point victory over Blue Mountain College (0-2) in the final game of the Tip-off Classic at UM Saturday afternoon in Pharr Gymnasium.

Mobile, which blew a seven point lead yesterday in the final minute as Campbellsville rallied to force overtime, held off another late charge tonight, this time from Blue Mountain College.

Trailing 66-60 wih 1:29 to play, Blue Mountain's Katie Walker drilled a three point shot to cut the lead in half.  After Mobile missed on the front end of a one and one free throw opportunity, the Toppers cut the lead to one point on a layup by Amber Hughes with just 18 seconds to play.

However, freshman A'frica Boykin would knock down two very crucial free throws with 16 seconds left to give Mobile a three point lead.

After a missed three point attempt, Sheree McDowell grabbed the rebound and quickly layed the ball in as time expired leaving the Toppers one point short.

Mobile was led by senior Jessica Barber who scored 17 points to go along with three assists.  Junior Crystal Coston added 14 points to go along with 14 rebounds and King Rybarczyk also scored in double figures finishing with 10.
