Lady Rams Beat Concordia-Selma
MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team jumped ahead with a dominant first half Saturday and held on to beat Concordia College-Selma 70-62.
The Lady Rams used an 11-to-0 free throw advantage to build a 38-20 first-half lead and then held on to win the game. Mobile shot 49% from the floor, while Concordia hit 42% of their shots.
Mobile also placed 4 players in double-digits. Angela Bounds netted 16 points, Crystal Hutchinson picked up a double-double with 16 and 10, Danielle Goodly picked up a unique double-double with 11 points and 10 steals, and Sherri McIntosh added 11 points for the Lady Rams.
Mobile moves to 2-4 on the season and next plays Tuesday at the University of West Florida. Tip off will be at 5:30 pm.
Mobile Falls to #5 Southern Nazarene
MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team faced their 4th NAIA Top-25 team Friday night at home, and it proved to be the toughest test yet.
5th-ranked Southern Nazarene University came to Mobile and dominated the game on their way to a 71-52 victory. The Crimson Storm out-shot Mobile 42% to 33% from the floor and knocked down five more three pointers than the Lady Rams.
Sherri McIntosh was a bright spot for Mobile, picking up a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Crystal Hutchinson picked up 12 points and went 4-of-5 from the floor and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.
The Lady Rams fall to 1-4 on the season and next play at home in the final day of the Alabama Orthopaedic Clinic Class at the University of Mobile. They will host Concordia College - Selma at 7 pm.
Lady Rams Basketball Hosts Tournament 
MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team will host the 2007 Alabama Orthopedic Clinic Classic Nov. 16-17 at the University of Mobile gym.
Joining the Lady Rams on the court over the weekend will be Spring Hill College, Concordia-Selma and #5 Southern Nazarene University.
Spring Hill and Concordia will face off Friday at 6:00 pm, and the Lady Rams will follow that with an 8 pm showdown with the 5th-ranked Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm.
Saturday will feature 5 and 7 pm start times to finish off the competition. The opening game will feature the Lady Badgers and Crimson Storm, while the Lady Rams will finish things up by battling Concordia-Selma.
Mobile will enter the weekend 1-3 on the season after playing three Top-25 NAIA schools and an NCAA Div I foe. The Lady Badgers open their season Tuesday, November 13th, while Southern Nazarene has a 2-1 record after falling 67-62 to Point Loma Nazarene last Friday.
