Lady Rams Fall In Low-Scoring Affair
MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team dropped a 64-53 ball game at Auburn-Montgomery Monday night.
Defense reigned supreme in the first half as the Lady Senators went into the break leading only 23-20, despite the Lady Rams out-shooting them 50% -to- 32% in the frame.
Mobile again shot over 50% from the floor, but the game was won at the charity stripe, as the Lady Rams only hit 5-of-11 freebies, while the Lady Senators knocked down 13-of-18.
Also, making up for AUM's 39% shooting from the floor in the game, the Lady Senators collected 14 offensive boards and hit 4 more 3-pointers than the visitors. AUM also forced 10 more turnovers to make up for missed shots.
The Lady Rams (2-6) were led by Sherri McIntosh and Angela Bounds with 14 points apiece, while Danielle Goodly came in with 13 points. Mobile returns to action Wednesday night at 5:30 pm when the University of Montevallo comes to Mobile.
