Rams Too Tuff For AUM, UM Wins 61-55

MOBILE, Ala. – UM’s Crystal Coston proved to be virtually unstoppable as she helped lead the Rams (5-2) past 17th-ranked Auburn University-Montgomery (8-3) by scoring 24 points to go along with 11 rebounds, four steals, three assists and one blocked shot. It was all in a day’s work as the University of Mobile avenged an earlier season loss to the Senators with a 61-55 win.

Kinga Rybarczyk got the Rams on the board early and Mobile never looked back as they held as much as a 12-point lead in nearly leading wire-to-wire. Coston’s offensive output was balanced by a superb defensive stand in which the Rams held the Senators to 35 percent shooting.

AUM was led by the triumvirate of Monica Diamond (13 points), Jessica Weathers (12 points) and Lindsay Dunton’s 10 points.

UM will head across town for Spring Hill College’s Port City Classic on Monday, Dec. 13, where they will square off against NCAA Div. II opponent Stillman College and 5th-ranked Freed-Hardeman College on Tuesday. Monday’s game is set to tip-off at 6 p.m. with Tuesday’s at 3 p.m.
