Rams split pair of tournament games over break

AVON PARK, Fla. -- The University of Mobile (9-3) split a pair of tournament games over the Christmas break defeating Westminster College 70-48 while dropping one to Evangel University 72-53 in the Warner Southern Tournament held in Avon Park, Florida Dec. 30-31.

In the tournament opener, the Rams fell behind early on and were unable to recover against Evangel University in suffering the team's first defeat in over a month.  Mobile's King Rybarczyk scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds but it wasnt enough as the Rams shot just 40 percent in the game as a team.

In the second game, Mobile cruised to a 70-48 victory over Westminster College behind 22 points a piece from both Sandra Kostandinovic and Crystal Coston.  Coston, who is averaging 19.7 points per game and 10.8 rebounds a contest, also grabbed 14 points and dished out three assists.

The Rams will take nearly a week long break before returning to action at home on Thursday, Jan. 6 against Dillard University in the team's first conference game of the season.
